Enhanced by the Aurora Borealis' energy. All fish have a 15% chance to have the Aurora mutation. Chances increase to 30% during Aurora Borealis.
The Aurora Rod has mediocre stats, but its primary advantage lies in a 15% chance to apply the Aurora mutation, boosting fish value by 6.5x. This makes it ideal for farming at Harvesters Spike, The Depths, or in the Deep Ocean.
Despite the Aurora mutation's high value, the Mythical Rod generally provides better average returns during normal conditions. However, during the Aurora Borealis, the Aurora Rod surpasses the Mythical Rod, as the Aurora mutation rate increases to 30%.
The Aurora Rod has 0.06 control (+6%), resulting in a bar 36% of the reeling minigame, providing decent control for Stage 4 rods.
How to Obtain
The Aurora Rod is located next to Synth inside of Vertigo. It can only be purchased for 70,000 C$ during the Aurora Borealis event.
Note that the rod is only available for purchase when the Aurora Borealis weather event is active in the game.

- Max Kg of 6,000 limits what fish you can catch.
